The libyan coin 1/2 dinar photo on the cover was issued after the year 2000 and the catalog is supposed to have information about coins issued between 1901-2000

Yes, sorry, the Libya coin is KM 27, and boldly dated 1372. Sadly we did not immediatly realize it was a restrike of an old date. However, we are not perfect, and you should enjoy the rest of this 2250 page book.

Once you get past the photo slip-up on the cover, I think you'll find that the 37th edition offers a great deal of updated information on world coin values.

The Libyan coin is not a restrike (as is incorrectly reported in the catalog). It is an original issue dated 1372 in the P.D. calendar, rather than the more traditional A.H. calendar. The P.D. is a solar calendar that starts the year of the death of the Prophet Muhammad in 732AD, thus 1372 P.D. is 2004AD (which is not in the 20th century) As far as I know Libya is the only nation that has used this system. The date of the coin was correctly reported in the 21st century catalog a few years ago, but has been incorrectly reported since then.

The last version of the most popular and famous world coin catalog in the world. It is very interesting and useful not only for the beginning, middle and advanced collectors and also for people who just interested in the history, distribution and other aspects of the coins.
The catalog contains complete list by date and mint more that 50,000 high quality coin images in compare to 47,000 in 2000 SC 1901-2000 27th ed.
Strongly recommended!
